Dave Douglas' FONT Announces Festival Line-Up

Founded by Dave Douglas and now in it's twelfth year, the Festival of New Trumpet Music takes place September 17th - 28th at venues throughout New York City. This year's festival highlights include:

• Twelve Days of Brass! All across NYC including Mannes College, Smoke, Rockwood Music Hall, Cornelia Street Cafe, and Littlefield.

• A John Zorn World Premiere for brass, with American Brass Quintet  and Practical Trumpet Society. A FONT Commission.

• Award of Recognition to Raymond Mase and the American Brass Quintet.

• First Annual Roy Campbell Jr. Commission awarded to Igmar Thomas.

• First Annual Laurie Frink Education Grant awarded to Riley Mulherkar.

• BRASS BEAT BLASTOFF Thursday, September 25 - Three grooving bands at Littlefield: Banda De Los Muertos, NO BS! Brass and FABA Afro-brass All Stars.
